Dear FOLIO Colleagues,
It is with some mixed emotions that I let you know that I am leaving the Cornell Library, and therefore will be winding down my participation in the FOLIO project.
I have accepted the position of Assistant Director for Cloud and Infrastructure Services in Cornell’s central IT organization. In this new role, I will be overseeing the groups in CIT that support
the on-premise services for managed servers and storage, and the group that supports Cornell’s adoption of cloud infrastructure. Along with other colleges and units around campus, the Library will be one of my customers. I begin my new position on November
16.
Simeon Warner has agreed to take on interim management of the Library Systems group here, while the Library opens a search for my successor. In addition, I will be available to answer questions
and address issues where I have unique knowledge.
In the short term, we’ll need to find a new convener for the User Management SIG (if anyone would like to volunteer, please step forward!), and someone to coordinate the early implementers group.
I will be stepping back from other meetings unless I’m needed for a particular issue.
I have really enjoyed my time working on the FOLIO project. I think it is truly an innovative approach and a really important part of the Library software ecosystem. It has been very exciting
to see the community build up around this project. I’m going to miss working with all of you on this exciting endeavor, and I wish everyone the best for the development (and implementation) of FOLIO over the next few years.
