Sorry I missed yesterdays meeting.
We also use "dummy" patrons like Philip describes them, a lot are needed for ILL, devices and testing. We also use a lot of institutional dummy patrons like Faculty xy , these have special conditions for borrowing and fines.

Hi,

 

Just to confirm, Cornell *heavily* uses generic or dummy patron records, overloading the Voyager first name / last fields with things like “Columbia” / “Borrow Direct”, “Carrel 1” / “Fine Arts Library”, “Kroch Day Locker” / “Visitor Card”, ILL categories, devices … it is all over the map!
