Hello all,

It sounds like the following is true:

 - Preferred First Name is not appearing on the User Record in FOLIO and is a desired field
 - Middle Name is appearing on the User Record in FOLIO and doesn't need to be added
 - Honorific is not appearing on the User Record in FOLIO and is a desired field
 - Suffix is not appearing on the User Record in FOLIO and is a desired field

I'm not sure it's worth spending time trying to discover if our historic documentation indicates whether the desired fields were planned.  We should add stories to get the desired fields into the pipeline. We can discuss what the fields might be used for in an upcoming SIG meeting so that we can write the stories appropriately.

Let me know if this is oversimplifying the situation.

Hi,

A colleague in the Resource Access SIG reports that a few important user name fields may be missing:

preferredFirstName, Middle Name, Honorific, and Suffix.

At Cornell, preferred names are really important, which may be true for other Unis as well. Middle Name is helpful, especially for many non-English names, and we use "Jr, III"  etc. in Suffix. Honorific isn't so important to us, but it is for other institutions.

Has anyone else noticed that and, if so, should we discuss it at the next meeting?

Thanks,

Phil
