Product Council,

I wanted to formally introduce you to the Tech Council that has been formed for FOLIO. Per our wiki space and charter:

The role of the Tech Council is to:

Set general technical direction, carefully abiding by our ‘local decision making where possible’ guiding principle.
Define processes, procedures and standards required for contributing code to the project
Mediating technical conflicts between collaborators or foundation projects
Proactively advise the Product Council on technical issues that will require effort and prioritization
Respond to requests from the Product Council on technical issues

I am the convener of the TC, and the full list of members is:

We have been meeting since June 6th and over the last two weeks have really begun to hit our stride, I think. Our backlog is here:

And you can see from our latest meeting notes that we are beginning to tackle important issues that will impact FOLIO velocity, quality and sustainability. I will begin reporting status weekly as to the other SIGs and will be on each week’s PC call.
