Hi Mike -- some answers inline below.  And now I remember your comment about translating the sprint cycles to hours; I'm sorry I didn't do that before sending it out.

Thanks for this Peter. Unfortunately I will be traveling and not able to make today’s meeting. In the document the estimates are provided as ’Sprint Cycles’. Please clarify - each sprint is assumed to be 2 weeks, correct? How large of a team are you estimating?

Each sprint is assumed to be two weeks with a team of one back-end developer, one front-end developer and a product owner.  Some of the development tasks also require UX design work before starting the development work.

Also, as you note in the doc, the TC had looked to the PoC to provide the following information, if possible:
Estimation of time, resource types (skills) and resource levels, for:
  • Productionizing Camunda Integration into FOLIO
  • Adoption of Workflow System by a development team
  • Training and resources required to create new production workflows by a tenant
  • Ongoing support and maintenance of the Workflow system by a tenant

Am I understanding correctly that the Open Questions listed in the doc need to be answered before the above estimates can be provided?

In some cases, yes -- and this is reflected in the "effort estimate confidence" label.  Some of them (Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q6) will need answers although the answers themselves have little impact on the size of the effort to be done.  (These are things that need to be figured out in order for workflow to be more completely integrated into FOLIO.)  Others (Q4 and Q5) represent work that would need to be done in order to more closely fulfill the vision of having Workflow and To-Do apps versus using the Camunda Cockpit software outside of the FOLIO/Stripes window, but could be postponed or removed if the Camunda Cockpit is seen as sufficient.  (This work is covered in D2.)

I am interested to see what you recommend as next steps.

Thanks again for your leadership in the PoC and writing up this report. Sorry I’ll miss the discussion!
