I also vote for both with the demo being of higher priority.

I vote for #1… everyone could write down their questions and we can circle back on the 15th if we don’t get to the questions on Thursday.

Yes, Ingolf ran the question by me earlier. As long as I know by the end of today, I'm comfortable having a demo ready by Thursday. I'm happy to do whatever is most helpful to the group.

The main takeaway from Madrid that I wanted to bring to this group is that there will be work flowing to the Sys Admin SIG as a result of the action items from the DevOps 1 breakout -- in particular, some documentation will be created to support PostgreSQL provisioning and app deployment, which will come through the SIG to validate that it meets our needs. If there are further questions regarding the DevOps 1 breakout (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OxrdovzMnWJsxtic4zbC5fbUz68ME9j2tBO6t0Ar0Wc) or anything else that you've heard about the Madrid meeting or have come across in the notes, I'm happy to take time to discuss it -- but I'm not sure we'll need 30 minutes.

I'm also anxious to get into an actual installation of FOLIO.  I think having us all get into working on that will shape future discussions.  I'll certainly have more to say once I've figuratively gotten my hands on running FOLIO modules.  I'd vote in favor of doing 1), and perhaps setting a hard limit on how much time we spend on a) so can be sure to get to b).  Since Wayne is the one actually doing this demo though, it's definitely up to him.  Wayne -- would you be ready to do such a demo this week?

I guess I would leave that up to Wayne, although I am anxious to get going on an install.

Dear Group,

would you please share your opinion:

There are two possible items that I can put on the agenda for next Thursday:

a) continue the review on the Madrid session, especially the DevOps 1 breakout session (with action items) (walk-through with Wayne) (30 minutes)

b) a demo for a single-server installation (by Wayne) (20-30 minutes)

My question is should we do both items in one session or just one of them.

I think a) has to be done first because if one does that later the Madrid meeting will be too far away in the past.

And for b) my opinion is that we need a discussion right after the demo, so b) plus discussion will take longer than 20-30 minutes. On the other hand it is important to finally get involved with the technical details of an installation, so to do that better sooner than later.

My personal feeling is that we should do only a) next Thursday and schedule b) for overnext Thursday (in order to have more time for the installation demo and more room for discussions).

Could you please "vote" for

1.   a) + b) both on Feb 8th, with little or no time for discussion.

2.   a) on Feb 8th (along with possible other agenda items)  and b) on Feb 15th.

Have a great day,

Ingolf
