...thank you for the word "Krampus" - which I didn't know because it is Austrian ! (my dictionary says). And it is NOT equal to Saint Nicolas !
This is the punishing companion of St. Nicholas, in Germany this figure is called "Knecht Ruprecht" (Knecht = servant, related to engl. "knight"), "Hans Muff" or in some regions "Pelznickel" ("Nickel" referring to "Nicholas").
...but I don't have to fear him, because this guy comes on Dec. 6th already !
