Hello everyone,

as an attachment I send you the current flyer about the products of the hbz.
Starting on page 17 is a section about the German and Austrian Library Statistics.

Some words by me:
This statistics is conducted once a year. The libraries take part voluntarily. The vast majority of all German libraries, which are member in the German Library Association (DBV, http://www.bibliotheksverband.de/), take part in it (75% of research libraries, 90% of public libraries). Some libraries with private funding don't take part.
The libraries take part by filling out an (online) questionnaire. Some data do not come out of an ILS (for example: the area of a library...).
There are 234 data fields in the questionnaire, plus the "Subject Statistics". The Subject Statistics asks for 5 data points separately for each subject. These data points are: total expenses, expenses for printed books, expenses for printed journals and newspapers, acquired printed books (in the year in question) and the total number of currently held printed journals and newspapers. These data are raised for 35 subjects separately. I will think about how to put this on the Spreadsheet.
Concerning the other 234 fields: I will create entries in the Master Spreadsheet for those data fields which should come out of an ILS / NGS.
The questionnaire will be reformed in 2018. There will be more detailed questions about Digital Stocks, e.g. about open access material. I will see if I can already get some information about that planned reform.

Best Regards,
Ingolf
