Sharon (et al),

The F2F MM session in June was helpful, but it could have been a lot longer. It seemed like we were just starting to get somewhere when the hour was up. I don’t know if we’re more unruly than other SIGs, if our data are really that more complex, or something else, but I feel like we still sometimes struggle to articulate exactly what we are thinking of as reports. Now that you are doing the clustering and have a few (?) prototypes, it would be really helpful for us to look at them as a group, not just for us to give you feedback but also for us to refine our understanding and thus better identify articulate our needs going forward.

A lot of the MM-related reports cross functional areas. How feasible would it be to have sessions based on the clusters rather than on the SIGs? (I know that might be a scheduling nightmare.)

Based on some of the concerns I’ve heard around Cornell, an intro to query languages and resources for learning them might be of interest too.

Thanks,

Laura

Subject: Feedback requested on reporting topics for WolfCon Jan 2020

Laura, Kristin, Andrea, and Maura,

Greetings Conveners! The Reporting SIG is in the midst of planning session topics for the upcoming WolfCon in January 2020 (as are you, no doubt). As you know, we need to get those topics submitted by November 18. During the past Face-to-Face FOLIO conference in DC, the Reporting SIG offered functional area SIG-focused sessions for MM, RA, and RM to review reports in those areas with your groups. The general idea was to simultaneously share plans and gather feedback from you on report work in your areas. For WolfCon January 2020, we are wondering:

We'd be delighted to hear any ideas or feedback you might have on this.

All the best,

Sharon
