Thanks, Anya!  We don't have anything on the schedule at this point, and this sounds like a great idea.  Dennis: are you up for it?  It might be a little fast to put something together for August 14th.  How does August 21st or August 28th look for you?  We're moving to holding the forums once-a-month rather than every two weeks, so we have some flexibility with scheduling.

Copying the forum facilitators on this, too.

Today in the PO meeting it was brought up that testers were called for during the last PC meeting.

I recently conducted testing at the FCs in a room full of acquisition librarian and staff who manage the day to day of purchasing materials for the libraries. Our purpose was to go through the steps outlined in Test-rails. What we discovered is that if you have not been involved in the process you do not know what the envisioned flow of work is, which leads to confusion and frustration.

FOLIO like any other system thinks about and handles things differently than what they are used to.

It would be extremely helpful to have the POs starting with Acq demonstrate and talk through the process at a FOLIO Forum. This will help in level setting testers and the community at large.

I have CCed Dennis because I believe he should go first, if you agree that this could and should be done as a forum.

He could show:

  • Adding an organization
  • Creating an one time and an on-going order
  • Creating the PO lines on those orders
  • Talk about how the funds will link to orders
  • Receiving those items
  • How an aqc person might place holds on on-order items

Thanks,
