Hi Dan,
Thanks very much for this background, and thank you in advance to everyone who will contribute examples that Stacks and the small group can review. We really appreciate
it! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if any questions.
Kristin: thanks again for putting out the call.

Subject: Re: [folio-rm-t] RE: Fund Structures: Examples Wanted
Hi Kristin,
I'm all too glad to provide some examples.
I'm a big fan of the OLE fund structure. The object code structure and hierarchy makes a lot of sense to me.
It's HIGHLY important that we are able to attach an object code or other identifier to our transactions so we can track our expenditures and especially METHOD of expenditure. Our accounts/fund codes are set up so
that it reflects the subject area, but the object codes reflect the method of acquisition. As you can tell, we distinguish between the methods of purchase.
For example, PRDA reflects our "Express Purchase" two day rapid fulfillment service for print books. And then we use that object code when matching the titles on the purchase orders with the circulation count. It
is a long term study on our collection development methods.
We've used these statistics to explain our decision to move away from approval plans (PRAP). And even track our ILL analytics-based purchases (PALC)!
I've sent my files to the Google Drive!

A further update on this: I was talking to Scott Perry here, who can supply some documentation for Chicago. He also reminded me that back in January he had met with Filip about financial management and funds, but he couldn’t remember whether any official documentation got created. I didn’t see any on the RM SIG Drive folder. I think this work got brought into the initial prototype under Financial Management. Filip, if you do have anything further from that time period that could be helpful on fund structures, could you supply it to the folder?
Thanks,
Kristin

Subject: [folio-rm-t] Fund Structures: Examples Wanted
Hi folks,
The Acquisitions subgroup would like some examples of the fund structures at your library. So far, they have been working from Texas A&M’s example, but additional examples would be helpful. Here is the information needed:
· General Fund structure for your library
· Can provide screenshots with narrative and/or a spreadsheet with the whole structure (For screens and overall structure, one at each level is fine. For overall funding structure, it would be great to have an overall outline)
· Actual amounts don’t need to be shared if you would prefer not to.
· Providing by the end of this week would be great.
Here is a folder in Google Drive where you can put your examples. It is limited to the RM SIG members. If you have trouble accessing, please request access: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByKXfvKzMDq-eG85NkJ6WXFyMjg
Thanks!
Kristin
