Hello Darcy,

On average we have approximately 30.000 loans open/active or ready
for check out.

>What’s a peak number for you?

The peak number is ~40.000 (at a semester). During vacation ~25.000.

At the moment we have 34.295 open loans. 33.399 are checked out by the
patrons and 896 are ready for check out.

We have a range of cronjobs here which control notifications via print and
EMail. For example: notifications for staff to control reservations are
printed daily from 7am to 10pm every ten minutes:

3,13,23,33,43,53 7-22 * * * /pica/mar/com/vormerkungen/submit_vormerkungen

Notifications for the patrons are generally done via EMail and in real-time.
(If the patron gets this notification in real-time is of course another question ...)

I hope this could help you.

Kind regards,

Christian Matz
