Hi RA-SIG,

last week we discussed several options to set the "effective" service point:

- user preference

- session preference

- permissions

- app specific for the "current task"

- ...

When I suggested adding the option to set the service point based upon the machine in use, several possible difficulties were mentioned. So perhaps I was misunderstood, as I inteded it to be an additional option that would very much help operations in our szenarios. A realization could work like this:

- Setup an icon on relevant machines (perhaps using "all user default programms" in Windows), that opens folio in a webbrowser with a "service desk option" within the url.

- Clicking on that icon would cause folio to initially set the "session preferfence" introduced by Cate last time to the service point where the machine is located.

- The users can still change the service point within the session as described above, but errors from staff moving back and foth between services points and forgetting to set the coreect one in their session would be eliminated.

Does this seem reasonable to you too? Perhaps we should put this option in the backlog too.

Yours,

  Carsten
