I show a tooltip for both notes and the dates for the fee. Also, not sure if a modal version is necessary, but if gives you an idea of what that might look like. Instead it might be wise to go to the fees/fines detail page if the user
needs more information.

Hi All,
Here’s the link to the fees/fines screens that I showed today. This includes the slideout sidebar on the left side that can be opened/expanded and closed/collapsed, as well as the grouping of fees/fines by item and a dropdown for sorting
the item by title, barcode or call number.
