Sorry – I switched lanes without signaling on that one.

I was talking about how we want (or if we want) proxy relationships to work in FOLIO.  Some examples:

-          faculty who ask their students or admins to check out books or place holds for them

-          spouses or children of faculty/staff/students that we may give dependent privileges

-          loosely affiliated scholars where we want to hold their sponsors responsible for their materials use.

The whole thing can easily turn into a morass and I’ve spent a lot of years creating work arounds for the bad tools other ILSs gave me to manage these relationships.  It’d be nice if FOLIO did it better.

Andrea,

I’m not sure what you mean by proxies? Do you mean the members of the sub-groups? I don’t want to assume I know what you’re talking about, then find out I’m on Pluto.

Thanks - Joanne

Subject: No RA SIG meetings tomorrow or Friday

Hi guys,

We’ve got several key team members unavailable tomorrow & Friday due to illness, family and work issues.  One of the folks who can’t make it is Filip and it seems a bit pointless to have advisory sub-team meetings without him.

I’m going to spend tomorrow’s meeting time trying to make sense out of the sub-teams, so PLEASE add your name to the lists where you think it’s appropriate.

As a near horizon issue -  a new question has arisen (courtesy of the User Management SIG) so we do need to think about how we want proxies to work.

Scheduling updates to come.  Thanks to you all for your patience.

Andrea
