Hi Joanne,
Thanks for writing back – you’re right, I misunderstood what you are asking, I apologize.
I’ve understood it that the underlying granular permissions could be assigned programmatically if they’re not available in the GUI – which is part of (though not the only) the reason that the list that Maura
pulled is 800+ perms long.
Having said that, I don’t know that for sure. So I will defer to Andrea’s suggestion to ask Cate or another PO for guidance.

Erin,
Not sure I understand you, but I was referring to the Google Doc. My understanding of this spreadsheet is that the entries on the app tabs indicate which permissions are being established for users of that app.
When a permission line says “create, edit, remove” I take that to mean all of those actions will be packaged together as a unit. My question was, will we be able to split the components out if we need to, or will it be a single all-or-nothing permission? It
sounds like it’s being designed as a single permission, at least for the first release. True?
Thanks - Joanne

Hi all,
I would not take this list as something to think about in terms of function in terms of grouping or display. This is a list Maura pulled from the code. We discussed in UM today – some of the permissions on this
list are not things you would assign directly, but are part of underlying modules or packages that are not necessarily privileges you would assign to a patron.
I think the better approach if you want to analyze missing permissions is to start from the Google Doc, since that was maintained by the POs and I believe that is the resource intended to drive user stories and
FOLIO user needs.

Hi Joanne,
This is still evolving and can certainly be discussed/ranked. But my understanding is that, with a few exceptions, this is the way the MVP will work.
Maybe we can get some clarification from Cate at tomorrow’s RA meeting.

Andrea,
I see that some permissions are grouped together as a package (create/edit/remove). For fines and fees (at least), it would be desirable to have these functions separately configurable. Is this still possible,
or is the packaged set how it will be done? See example of the Voyager profile configuration screen, where fine-related permissions are split out:
This snapshot is from the User App Permissions tab of the User Permissions spreadsheet:
Also, for patron blocks, we may need the ability to define which patron blocks are editable/removable (rather than all-or-nothing).

Subject: FW: List of all Bellis permissions
Hi all,
As you can see from the email below Maura Byrne, convener of the UM SIG, has put together a list of user permissions as they exist in the Bellis release at Chicago. This covers all of the apps so it’s quite
a list!
A more detailed way to look at this is on the
User
Permissions sheet but I believe Maura’s list is more up to date.
Thanks to Maura for all of her work.

Hello, all.
In case you are interested, I’ve downloaded and sorted the list of all permissions from UChicago’s EBSCO tenant, sorted them by module, and then organized them by action (create/delete, update, read). It’s not pretty, but it’s a complete
list.
It’s here on the Wiki:
