Our agenda for tomorrow is up:
https://wiki.folio.org/display/CONSORT/2019-09-25+Consortia+SIG+Meeting+Notes. We'll be talking about reports needed for Cross-Tenant Unmediated Requests. We'll start with "operational" reports - i.e. those needed to carry out tasks associated with the requests process. A number of these are already identified for single-tenant requests, so as a first step we can see if there are any gaps. A list of these reports is in the meeting notes for tomorrow.
After that, we can turn our attention to "analytical" reports - i.e. those that would be used to evaluate/understand requests. These are reports that would most likely end up being delivered via FOLIO's Library Data Platform. For that, I've been going back and forth on the best way to capture these. What I've landed on (for the moment!) is to develop a list of questions that we would want to answer.
Here are some examples:
- How many requests were placed on my items by another library's patrons?
- What percentage of requests did my library successfully fill for other libraries?
- How many requests did my patrons place on items at other libraries?
- What percentage of my patrons' requests were successfully filled by other libraries?
- What is the length of time it took to fill a request? what is the average length of time it took to fill a request in a given timeframe?
There's probably an unending list of questions that we might want to answer. Will compile as many as we can, which should help in constructing a data model.
Talk to you tomorrow (or today depending on when and where you are reading this)!
Best,
David
